Gilroy’s book challenges the divisions between colonial/post-colonial, anti-racist and studies of fascism and the Holocaust to articulate an analysis between the ‘bloodstained past of colonialism and Nazi genocide’. The book seeks to promote ‘visions of the future released from outmoded principles of differentiation’ beyond the colour line and between the camps.
